Women in Transition

The decisions are suddenly yours, and you did not ask for them.

An inheritance, a divorce, the loss of a spouse. However you arrived here, you are now responsible for financial decisions you may have never handled on your own, often while you are still dealing with the hard part of what brought you here. It is a lot. And most of the people I help through it have never worked with an advisor before.

You are probably getting plenty of advice right now, some of it from people who mean well and some of it from people who see an opening. You may have inherited an advisor along with the money, someone who fit your parents but does not fit you. You may feel pressure to decide things quickly, before you have had a chance to catch your breath. None of that is a good way to make choices that will shape the next twenty or thirty years of your life.

There is no rush on my end, and no question you could ask that is too basic. We move at a pace that lets you actually understand what you own and why, so the decisions feel like yours instead of something done to you.

I work with women across Morris County and northern New Jersey through exactly these moments, and the work itself is practical. We start by laying out a clear, complete picture of what you have, which for many people is the first time anyone has put it all in one place. From there we build a plan: how to turn what you have into income you can rely on, how to stay ahead of the taxes, and how to invest it in a way that fits your life. If you are working through a divorce or settling an estate, I coordinate with your attorney and accountant, so you are not the one relaying messages between professionals.

Here is why my background matters to you specifically. Before I built this practice, I spent years inside the largest firms on Wall Street, so I know how the money world actually works, including the parts that are not built in your favor. I can tell you when something is being sold to you rather than recommended, and what deserves your attention and what is just noise. You should not have to become a financial expert overnight. You should have someone in your corner who already is.

If you would rather start by reading, I have written about these situations in plain language. Begin with the article on what to do when you inherit money and have never managed it before. No form, nothing to sign.

And when you are ready to talk, that is all it is, a talk. No preparation, no documents, no pressure to decide anything that day. We figure out what is going on and whether I am the right person to help. You can take it one step at a time.
